“A Pew Research Center poll in December found that only 50 percent of Americans reacted positively to the term “capitalism,” while 40 percent reacted negatively. Among Americans ages 18 to 29, more had a negative view of capitalism than a positive view, the survey found. Those young Americans actually viewed socialism more positively than capitalism. In other words, America’s grasping capitalists are turning young Americans into socialists.”
For the record, I’ve been hating capitalism since I started my own business and really began to understand what it’s all about. And I’ve considered myself a socialist for far longer. Ironically I blame that one on Jesus.
But until I put my money where my mouth is and move us out of this capitalist chaos that’s slowly imploding, and on to a country/government/society that actually cares about its citizens, I should just shut up
…I have not tried your cake but I know your cake. I know of its flour, of its corn syrup. Of the brazen indifference with which you crafted it. You think it is just cake. You are wrong. It is the sum total of you. Of your ability to create, to transcend the world of beasts and build some small fleeting cairn to mark your passing.
and i think that’s the problem. We keep pumping shit out without thinking what it says about us, about our ability to create.
